Seeing that guy all empty like that all of a sudden, it kind of reminded me of people back home. I mean, there aren't any spectres or anything involved in that; everyone pretty much chooses it for themselves, but.

... Well, now that you mention it, there is a similar phenomenon where I'm from. I know of a country with no name, where its citizens voluntarily give up their emotions, believing them to be the source of evil.

Really? Ugh, I would have hoped my world was the only one that was that messed up... It was pretty much the norm there. Go to the capital and devote your life to the goddess, get a number instead of a name, never have to worry about anything again. People like us who rejected all that were the weird ones.
