Yeah, I babysit her when her mom works. She owns a bar, so it's a lot of late nights. She likes to help me cook and she's not bad at it either.

Beef stir-fry because it's easy. I'm not a cook or anything, but it's cheaper than buying from the konbini every day.

Yeah, I like making stuff like that too. I'm a pretty good cook, but I don't really do fancy recipes that are focused on presentation. What's most important is that it tastes good and keeps you going, and that you enjoy eating it.

Meat helps with all of that. Have you been able to make anything good here?

Nothing great, but at least the selection of canned foods here is pretty good, and there's enough seasonings to help with any bland or weird tastes.

Oh, Ali brought these fresh fish back the other day, though! I added some of 'em to a stew I was already cooking when she came by, and it turned out pretty good... I dried some of the other ones so they could be preserved longer, since we don't have a good icebox or anything. So those should last us as long as we're here, at least.

At least there's salt here even if there's still not enough soy sauce.
