[It's cuddle week and Rin likes touch anyway, so Alphinaud is fine to sit there. As a twin, he understands better than most.

He does speak, in a quiet voice:]

I'll be okay. We still gotta rescue them all, right? So I can't just sit here forever.

[He can for now though, he's allowed to be sniffly today at least.]

[ He is on hundred percent allowed to be sniffly. Cry all over his shoulder if you need to, buddy.

Alphinaud is silent for a moment, then: ]

Aye, that we must. But pray, mourn all you need. Your grief is no less important.

[He shifts a little at that, not sure how to explain things.]

I'm...not good at that part. The whole 'grieving' thing. Even when Dad died, I think I only cried that night and started my training to be an exorcist the next day. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I just sat here sad for days and days.

[ ... Ah. His father, and now his brother. The gods have not been kind to this boy. ]

I... do understand, and I too only desire to tear this system apart. I shall stand beside you, Rin, however way I must.
