Oh, yeah, definitely. They weren't quite this bad in my time before she changed things, but it was still really messed up. People going by numbers instead of names and having everything provided for them so they never have to feel anything but that false happiness.
Pretty much. I mean, most of 'em chose it, aside from the kids born into it, and they think it's great. But I wouldn't call it living as a human. Not in any meaningful way, anyway.
